Black Thalhammer Floor Lamp, Circa 1940

Thalhammer, a Los Angeles-based tripod company, made their sturdy brand of camera support starting in the early 1920s. This particular black/dark brown example includes the original steel chromed kino-pano tilt head, which continues to function and can be used to alter the angle of light cast by the lamp.

Gorgeous patina shows this tripod endured much, but did so with grace and strength as it only shows minor wear and is still sturdy enough to head back out in the field today. Original rubber feet on the base of each leg make this tripod ideal for homes with hardwood floors.
